Juneteenth Jubilee Video Series: Watch Episode 2

Activities

You’re officially invited to have some fun. Whether you want to take a tour of Louisville in a kayak, rent a bike, watch the perfect sunset, or take selfies with Abe Lincoln, we’ve got you covered.

Eat and Drink

Visit Big Four Concessions for a hot dog, chili dog, ice cream, or ice-cold drink. Other snacks are available as well. Look for Big Four Concession stand at the base of the Big Four Bridge on the weekends, weather permitting.

Dine on the deck at Joe’s Crab Shack for great views of the river and park. Located at 131 River Road near the Blue parking lot, Joe’s Crab Shack has been operating at the Louisville Wharf since 1998, serving seafood seven days a week.

Coming Soon
We are excited to announce a new grab-and-go café opening in a section of the former Doc’s Cantina building. Conveniently located between the Brown-Forman Amphitheater and the Big Four Bridge, the new eatery will feature items including coffee, sandwiches, snacks, treats, beer, and wine. With options to dine in or take out, the new café is a welcome addition to the park. Stay tuned for updates on our grand opening.

Rent Bikes

Bring your bike, or rent one from Wheel Fun Rentals and take a pedaling tour of our park. Our bike pathways wind throughout the park and alongside the waterfront. Located conveniently in the Red Parking lot next to the river and the Big Four Bridge, Wheel Fun Rentals encourages park exploration with a range of cycles, including Surreys, cruiser bikes, specialty bicycles, tandem bikes, recumbent bikes, kid bikes, and more. Visiting the city? Wheel Fun Rentals will deliver bikes to those staying at a downtown hotel.

Rent Kayaks

Book a kayak tour and explore the city by water. Take in beautiful views of nature, downtown, or the park as you paddle down the waterfront. Sunset tours are also available.

Contact Louisville Kayak Company for more information and to schedule your next tour.

Field Trips

Waterfront Park is the perfect destination for field trips. We want teachers and students of all ages to explore and enjoy the park.

Picnics
Waterfront Park offers a variety of green spaces and areas that include seating where groups can eat their lunches. To find a location, please visit our park map.

Please bring additional garbage bags to collect all waste. Place your trash bags near any permanent trash cans in the park, and we will take care of the rest.

Activities
Our park includes two playgrounds for activities during your trip. For more information, please see our Playgrounds page.

Also, be sure to download activities about the Lincoln Memorial to use during your field trip.

Bus Parking
Please park buses along the north side of River Road near the curb. Students can safely enter and exit the bus without crossing the street. Our parking lots are narrow and unable to accommodate long buses.
