The Ripple Effects Student Photography Contest will celebrate water for the fourth consecutive year. From now until August 5, students in grades K-12 are invited to capture images of what water means to them. Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and honorable mention will be awarded to winning submissions by age category. Plus, winning entries will also be featured in an exhibit at the Kentucky State Fair and in galleries throughout our region.
Waterfront Park is excited to host a FREE photography workshop with award-winning photographer, John Nation and other acclaimed photographers on Monday May 20th at 6:30pm.
Students of all ages are invited to learn about the fundamentals of photography while fostering an interest in our waterways through this accessible art form.
During the event students will sit for a short presentation at the Community Boat House at Waterfront Park before taking a walk in the park with their cameras and photography professionals active in the Louisville Photographic Society.
