Walking In A Waterfront Wonderland
A message from our Executive Director, Deborah Bilitski:
As we reflect on 2024, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for all that we’ve accomplished together. This year marked a milestone as we celebrated 25 years of Waterfront Park, a testament to the vision, hard work, and unwavering support from our community. Your dedication has made Waterfront Park not just a space, but a cherished home for connection, celebration, and growth.
In 2024, we welcomed over 2.4 million visitors and hosted over 300 events and activations. We enhanced our park’s features including the rededication of the TurfMutt Great Lawn, a renovated Overlook, and improved accessibility through our paver installation project and newly paved walkways along the river. We also continued construction on the Phase IV expansion set to open in Spring 2025.
These achievements wouldn’t have been possible without your generous support. Every donation, volunteer hour, and event attendance helps maintain and grow this park as a free, welcoming space for everyone.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to open the first 3.5 acres of the Phase IV expansion and continue our work on creating a greener, more inclusive park. From the completion of PlayPort to further improving infrastructure and accessibility, we are committed to ensuring Waterfront Park remains a vibrant anchor for our community and a vital piece of Louisville’s legacy.
As we embark on the next chapter, we need your continued partnership. Whether through donations, volunteering, or simply visiting and enjoying the park, your involvement is the heart of what makes Waterfront Park thrive.
