Summer’s Almost Here — See What’s Happening at Waterfront Park!

A message from our Executive Director, Deborah Bilitski:

Dear Friends of Waterfront Park,

As the weather warms up, so does the energy at Waterfront Park. Fresh off a hectic Kentucky Derby Festival, we’re keeping the momentum going with a packed calendar of events this May. From live music and evening yoga to vintage treasure hunts and community fitness, there’s something for everyone at the park. Whether you’re joining us for the Mayor’s Hike, Bike & Paddle, hunting for collectibles at the Fleur de Flea Vintage Market, or settling in for a Downtown Drive-In movie, it’s all about celebrating community, and deepening our connection to the river and one another.

While the park is back open for events and recreation, the impact of April’s historic flood remains significant. The damage – 11 transformers, acres of affected turf, layers of silt, broken lights, benches, concrete, and playground equipment – will take months and hundreds of thousands of dollars to fully repair and restore.  We appreciate your patience as we undertake this restoration effort.  We are committed to bringing Waterfront Park back to its full splendor and, with your support, we know it’s possible.

Finally, we would like to cordially invite you to join us for Sailing Into Summer, a benefit concert in support of Waterfront Park. Featuring Tony & The Tan Lines and summer cocktails, it’s sure to be an unforgettable evening, all in celebration of the public space we love.

We’ll see you at the Waterfront!
