A message from our Executive Director, Deborah Bilitski:
Warm greetings from your favorite, donor-supported public park! Over the next couple months, you will see exactly why Waterfront Park is the most visited destination in downtown Louisville and our city’s incontrovertible epicenter of music, culture, and recreation. We are beyond thrilled to welcome hometown hero Jack Harlow, Grammy Award winner SZA and many more at Gazebo Festival on May 25 and 26. Our next WFPK Waterfront Wednesday is on May 29, and the Downtown Drive-In series returns on May 31 for another season of free outdoor movies and family fun.
Things don’t slow down in June, which begins with paddleboard excursions by Endless Summer Paddle on June 1 and 2, and Kentucky Humane Society’s Waggin’ Tail on the Waterfront 30th Birthday Pawty on June 2. If you like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain, then you definitely don’t want to miss Sailing into Summer with Tony and the Tanlines on June 7. LVA’s Juneteenth Art Camp follows on June 10 – 14, Kentuckiana Pride Festival on June 15, and Funk Fest on June 21 and 22. To help maintain our collective Zen through the hustle and bustle, we’ve mixed in Yoga classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the event season.
