Work is underway to open a family-friendly grab and go café
Waterfront Park is pleased to announce that work is underway to open a new café that will be located inside the former Doc’s Cantina building, conveniently positioned between the Brown-Forman Amphitheater and the Big Four Bridge, boasting spectacular river and bridge views.
The grab and go café will feature items such as coffee, sandwiches, snacks, treats, beer and wine for consumption on the premises or for packaged takeout. Families and individuals can enjoy the convenience and quality of the grab and go café while enjoying their visit to Waterfront Park.
“We are thrilled to provide this dining option to the two million visitors the park sees each year,” said Deborah Bilitski, president and executive director of Waterfront Park. “This style of casual eatery is perfect for those who want to grab a bite to eat and spend the day in the park.”
While an opening date has not been set, renovations are currently underway at the building. Updates include a fresh coat of paint with new color schemes inside and out, rebuilt sidewalks, upgraded drainage and the installation of new picture windows on the riverside.
The café will occupy a portion of the first floor of the building making it convenient for Waterfront Park visitors. Waterfront Park is currently seeking tenants to fill the remainder of the building. If interested, please call (502) 574-3768.
