A message from our Executive Director, Deborah Bilitski:
Every summer, Waterfront Park welcomes the entire community on the Fourth of July in the heart of our city with music, food, children’s activities, and dazzling fireworks over the Ohio River. What I love most about this event is the way it brings people from throughout the region together and unites us around a shared appreciation of country, family, and one another.
As one of the hallmark traditions of our member-supported park, our free, family-friendly Fourth of July celebration is only possible because of the generous support of all of our donors. Special thanks to the Marshall Family Foundation – Phillip, April, and Deborah – for their presenting sponsorship of the event for the fourth consecutive year, as well as the continued support of our Greater Louisville Central Labor Council including IBEW Local 369, Jefferson County Teachers Association, Laborers International Union of North America No 576, Teamsters Local 89, Teamsters Local 783, United Automobile Workers Local 862, and United Automobile Workers Local 3058, Kosair for Kids, Nugent Sand Company, James Collins Ford, Simon Signs, and Bearno’s Pizza.
The annual event is also made possible thanks to the support of Waterfront Park members and Louisville Orchestra donors and patrons.
As we prepare to host the community on our front lawn on July 4th, let me close by saying July is National Park and Recreation month – we hope you will join us in recognizing and celebrating the vital role our parks and park professionals play in bringing people together, providing essential services, and fostering the growth and prosperity of our community.
