“This Is The Ohio” Documentary Screening

This Is The Ohio looks at the Ohio River in a new and provocative way. The one-hour documentary is light in tone but very serious in presenting the urgent need to care for this most important waterway. It considers what the Ohio has done for us as well as what we have done to it. From Pittsburgh to Cairo writer/producer Morgan C. Atkinson travels the 981-mile river uncovering revealing perspectives. Atkinson has made a career of creating documentaries that examine individuals and entities that make our region unique, while defining the values and priorities of our region. His work was recently recognized by the KY Arts Council when he was presented with the Governor’s Award for the Arts. This Is The Ohio will open the eyes of people who thought they knew the Ohio as well as those who never have given it a second thought.

The event will take place on Thursday, July 11, at the Big Four Bridge Pier, 1001 River Road, opening at 8pm, one hour before sundown with the screening beginning at sunset. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets for the viewing! This screening is part of Waterfront Park’s 25th anniversary celebrations, acknowledging the park’s deep connection to the Ohio River.  Don’t miss this eye-opening film that offers new perspectives on a vital waterway.
