The Big Stomp (formerly known as PeteFest), the nation’s first music festival to focus on mental health, will return this summer July 25-26th. The expanded event will feature more than 12 acts across two stages including headliners Murder by Death and The Record Company. The festival will again take place at Waterfront Park in Louisville around the Brown-Forman Amphitheater. To celebrate the announcement of the lineup, the festival is hosting an Official Release Party on April 16th from 5-7pm at Whirling Tiger (1335 Story Ave).

For two days, more than 12 musical acts will perform across two stages, including Murder by Death, The Record Company, Bendigo Fletcher, Say She She, and Ruen Brothers.

Now in its ninth year, The Big Stomp began as an annual outreach event for The Pete Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to destigmatizing mental health and expanding access to mental health crisis intervention. About far more than just music, The Big Stomp is an immersive community experience geared toward fostering a more open and thoughtful conversation around mental health.  Merging entertainment and education, fans will not only enjoy two days of live music, local food and beverage, but also have the opportunity to learn about healthy habits, practices, and mindfulness through activities including:

  • Festival-goers can swing by the Nutrition Nook, sponsored by Kroger, to grab a fresh piece of fruit and indulge in a sweet treat crafted by Award-Winning Pastry Chef Jackie Joseph.
  • Love, Tito’s Coloring Wall, featuring a large wall for all to take part in coloring as the music plays, and creating an original image that will be reproduced as postcards for mailing in May 2026 as a part of mental health month.
  • The If This Is You Saloon, a fun saloon inspired space where festival goers can sit back and enjoy the company of friends while they enjoy a drink served from the mocktail bar.
  • Equine therapy returns to The Big Stomp this year—joined by a few new four-legged friends, as therapy goats make their adorable debut to bring comfort, calm, and a whole lot of smiles. Swing by to learn more on the benefits of animal therapy.

Two-day weekend passes start at $59.00, and youth passes (Ages 0-14 years) are free with a paid adult pass.  Big Bundle VIP weekend pass is $220. Full ticket details can be found online at TheBigStomp.com.  This year’s sponsors include: Kroger, Tito’s, Quest Outdoors, WFPK (91.9 WFPK stage), Cornbread Hemp, Minuteman Press, and Heaven Hill.

The annual event was founded as an extension of The Pete Foundation’s work to destigmatize mental health and provide awareness of much-needed community resources. The foundation was created by the Jones family following the loss of their 23-year-old son, Pete in 2016. Like many survivors, the Jones family channeled their immense loss into motivation to support others who may find themselves in a similar position. Throughout the year, in addition to The Big Stomp, the foundation offers a number of resources to the community, including hosting regular QPR Trainings, a nationally-recognized, evidence-based practice for those who desire to learn the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond to it.  For more information, visit https://thebigstomp.com/.  View photos and videos from last year’s festival HERE and approved artist images HERE.
