Join us at Waterfront Park on Friday, July 4, for a festive celebration of our nation’s birthday, highlighted by the return of “Waterfront’s Most Talented!” This exciting variety show, produced in collaboration with Jou Jou Presents, will showcase over a dozen outstanding local and regional performers.
The event takes place on the Big Four Lawn, offering a comfortable, shaded tree grove and a stunning view of the Big Four Bridge, illuminated in red, white, and blue for the occasion.
Festivities begin at 5:00 PM with family-friendly activities and a live DJ. Opening ceremonies start at 6:45 PM, followed by a performance of the National Anthem by American Idol’s Layla Spring. The evening culminates with a special performance by D’Corey Johnson and spectacular fireworks display over the Ohio River at 10:00 PM.

5:00–8:30 PM – Kosair for Kids Children’s Area featuring family-friendly games and activities focused on science, music, art, and nature
6:45 PM – Opening ceremonies and National Anthem sung by Layla Spring
7:00 PM – Talent showcase begins

10:00 PM – Fireworks over the Ohio River
Family-friendly activities, including science, music, art, and nature, will be available from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm, sponsored by Kosair for Kids. Additional attractions include bounce houses, a foam party, and interactive displays by Louisville Metro Police, Fire, and EMS. Ten members of the GLCLC and their affiliated supporters will honor first responders and military veterans by providing a cool-down station for the public. Visitors are invited to stop by the tent for fans and ice-cold water. The GLCLC Cool Down Station is brought to you by IBEW Local 369, UAW 862, Teamsters Local 89, Teamsters Local 783, JCTA, UFCW 227, IUE-CWA 83-761, LIUNA 576, UA Local 502, UAW 3058, and Build My Place.
There will be a variety of food and beverage options, with offerings from Brown-Forman products.

Getting There & Parking
The Big Four Bridge will close to pedestrians and cyclists at 8:00 PM and will reopen after the fireworks.
River Road, between Witherspoon Street and Preston Street, will close to vehicles starting at 4:00 PM.
Parking is available in several nearby locations, including:
- The surface lot next to the Turf Mutt Great Lawn
- Along River Road and Witherspoon Street
- The Tan, Turquoise, and Yellow parking lots
- The Louisville FC Green Lot and Purple Lot
Bicycle racks will also be available on-site for those arriving by bike.
