Park Rules

The park belongs to all of us. Let’s keep it clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone. Be neighborly and respectful to all park users.

General Park Rules

• Waterfront Park hours of operation are from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. 
• Vehicles left in the parking lots after 11 pm are subject to towing. Cars parked in not parking areas will be towed. For more information, contact the company, On Call Towing at 502-225-1010.
• Restroom hours (seasonal) are open from 9 am – 9 pm.
• Dispose of all trash properly. Please clean up after yourself, your children, and your pets.
• Pets must remain on a leash at all times.
• Groups of more than 50 people require an approved Waterfront Park event permit.
• Personal grills are not allowed. Park grills are available in designated picnic areas.
• No fires of any kind.
• No fireworks without a Waterfront Park permit.
• No tents of any kind are allowed without a Waterfront Park permit.
• Do not tie or attach anything to trees.
• No graffiti, stickers, or defacement of park property.
• Skateboarding on railings, stairs, park furniture, or playground equipment is prohibited.
• No inflatables.
• Park only in designated paved parking areas. Parking elsewhere in the park is not allowed.
• Off‑road driving and driving on pathways and sidewalks is prohibited.
• ATVs and dirt bikes are not permitted.
• Do not block parking lots, drive aisles, or sidewalks.
• Alcoholic beverages are prohibited except within a designated event area with an approved Waterfront Park event permit.
• Vending, advertising, and commercial photography/videography require a Waterfront Park permit.
• Hunting, trapping, or removing natural resources, including rocks, plants, and flowers, is not allowed.

Playground Rules

In addition to the General Park Rules, the following rules apply in Waterfront Park’s playgrounds:

• Playground use is at each person’s own risk.
• Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
• Parents and guardians are responsible for assessing their children’s abilities and ensuring safe use of all play equipment.
• No smoking.
• No pets, except service animals.
• No bikes, scooters, skateboards, or rollerblades/skates.
• No motorized vehicles.
• No glass containers.
• No grills. Park grills are available in nearby picnic areas.
• No lawn chairs.
• Children should not wear clothing with hoods or exposed drawstrings while using play equipment.

Big Four Bridge Rules

In addition to the General Park Rules, the following rules apply on the Big Four Bridge and Ramp:

• No pets, except service animals.
• Events are not permitted on the bridge.
• No skateboards or skates (including in‑line skates).
• No motorized vehicles, including electric scooters, mopeds, motorcycles, or cars/trucks. Personal mobility scooters and motorized wheelchairs are permitted.
