Rick Bell Historic Walking Tours

Location: Meet at Lincoln Memorial and walk to the Big Four® Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge

Please join author and historian, Rick Bell as he returns to Waterfront Park for monthly walking tours. Bell will be hosting a FREE 1.5-mile historical walking tour on select dates. Sunday tours will begin May 18th at 4:00 P.M. Tours will begin at the Lincoln Memorial and will take you all through Waterfront Park until you reach the Big Four® Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge.

Bell will give attendees the opportunity to educate themselves from what used to be a barren scrap yard, to what is now Waterfront Park, 85-acres of open green space giving people access to the Ohio River in downtown Louisville.

History Alive at Waterfront Park: History Walking Tours with a Lincoln Performance

Our popular walking tours return this fall, guided by historian Rick Bell and featuring Warren Greer, a professional historian and Lincoln expert. Before each 1.5-mile walking tour, Warren will perform, “Laughing with Lincoln,” a theatrical piece offering the audience a glimpse into the impact and humanity of the Kentucky native and 16th president of the United States. Free and open to the public, these tours offer an even more engaging and memorable way to connect with Louisville’s history. Advance registration is required. This portion will begin at 3:30 pm at the Lincoln Memorial before the walking tour.

RAIN OR SHINE
Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and bring drinking water and sunscreen. Free parking is available in the park.
