Juneteenth Camp LVA & Waterfront Park sponsored by the Juneteenth Jubilee Celebration June 13-17
For the second year, young artists are invited to participate in a tuition free celebration of art and learning for ages 7-12. Campers will be introduced to the work and history of Ed Hamilton, Muhammad Ali, the Underground Railroad and more enriching information relating to Juneteenth and our city of Louisville. Campers will create their own sculptures, collages, miniature landscapes and paintings to express themselves and their newfound knowledge. Their art will be displayed at the end of camp at their very own art exhibition.
Campers will meet each morning for visual art instruction, and activities on the covered outdoor patio of the David K. Karem Building which overlooks the Ohio River. In the afternoon, campers will explore Waterfront Park sites for fun camp activities and plenty of exercise.
